Primary Therapist – Denver, Colorado

Supervisor:

Executive Clinical Director and Director of Clinical Research

Summary of Major Functions:

Primarily responsible for the direction of care of PHP patients as part of interdisciplinary team. Provides individual therapy, case management, group therapy, and treatment planning. Ensures implementation of the treatment plan in all aspects of programming and plans for a smooth transition and discharge from treatment.  Responsible to document all treatment processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate ability to provide comprehensive and ongoing assessment resulting in appropriate treatment and discharge recommendations (Patient’s BioPsychoSocial completed and filed in patient’s chart within 72 hours).
  2. Create an individualized treatment plan with appropriate PHP goals and objectives (completed within 72 hours) and continually monitors progress and re-evaluates appropriateness of goals.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of and practice of clinical interviewing/counseling skills.
  4. Ensure that patients are seen for individual therapy as clinically indicated (twice weekly for PHP).
  5. Demonstrate ability to build therapeutic rapport.
  6. Provide case management for each assigned case: demonstrate ability to facilitate and/or ensure the whole of patient care, integrate all aspects of care and ease the process of treatment for the patient.
  7. Facilitate meals with expertise: demonstrate ability to challenge behaviors and support recovery.
  8. Facilitate meals with patients in a fashion consistent with current policies and procedures; eat and model appropriate eating behaviors during assigned mealtimes with patients.
  9. Facilitate groups with expertise: demonstrate ability to engage, set limits and monitor the group process.
  10. Maintain and develop group curriculum.
  11. Is creative in therapeutic interventions to maintain a safe, supportive, clinically sound milieu.
  12. Is present and available for patient requests and needs; provide outreach to patients when necessary.
  13. Maintain daily program structure.
  14. Timely completion and accuracy of clinical paperwork: treatment plan, progress notes, etc.
  15. Lead weekly staffings, conveying pertinent clinical information, formulating goals for the following week, and effectively communicating with members of the treatment team.
  16. Ongoing attention to discharge plan evidenced by development of aftercare plan, transition sessions with OP providers, and patient’s awareness of available resources.
  17. Thorough discharge summaries reflect course of treatment and D/C recommendations; completed within seven days of discharge and sent to patient’s outpatient providers.
  18. Demonstrate leadership in assuring continuity and quality of partial program, including curriculum development and group implementation.
  19. Provide clinical supervision to select clinical employees as assigned by Executive Clinical Director
  20. Effective and consistent communication with referral sources and collaborative providers.
  21. Other job duties as assigned.

Specialty:

  1. Specific training in performance-based/sports psychology
  2. Experience working with athletes in a clinical setting

Minimum Experience:

  1. Preferred PhD or PsyD in behavioral health field preferred.
  2. Experience working individually and in groups with eating disordered clients.
  3. Clinical conceptualization of the treatment of eating disorders and dual diagnosis.
  4. Good oral and written communication skills.
  5. Clinical leadership skills.

KANSAS CITY, KANSAS 

Admissions Assessment Clinician – Merriam, KS

Duties and Responsibilities:           

  1. Responds to inquiries within 24 hours of initial contact (in person, phone, email or web).
  2. Presents EDCare program information (all levels of care) in a comprehensive, ethical and inviting manner.
  3. Facilitates weekly admissions meeting providing up-to-date information about potential patients.
  4. Maintains relationships with community providers and referral agents.
  5. Interfaces with admissions clinicians from the other EDCare locations and financial department to ensure admission and payment.
  6. Demonstrates ability to provide comprehensive clinical assessment resulting in recommendation for appropriate level of care.
  7. Demonstrates knowledge of and practice of clinical interviewing skills.
  8. Demonstrates ability to build rapport resulting in converting inquires to assessments.
  9. Makes referrals to providers/resources as indicated, including Psychiatrist, Nutritionist, PCP, Family Therapist, and groups.
  10. Facilitates group(s) with expertise, demonstrating ability to engage, set limits, and monitor the group process.
  11. Timely completion and accuracy of initial paperwork: requests for benefits, inquiry forms, and intake activity sheet.
  12. Conducts pre-certification in timely and effective fashion to ensure payment.
  13. Coordinate admission by creating schedule and informing staff.
  14. Orients new patients according to PHP guidelines.
  15. Acts as a team with the finance department in facilitating admissions and troubleshooting insurance concerns.
  16. Schedules patients appropriately in EMR system and collects and provides information necessary to billing staff to ensure effective workflow processes.
  17. Conducts UR in timely fashion to ensure payment (if applicable).
  18. Demonstrates personable and competent communication skills via telephone, email, and in person.
  19. Demonstrates consistent knowledge of potential patients and current census totals.

Minimum Experience:

  1. Master’s degree preferred.

Summary:           

Part time Psychiatrist between 12 – 15 hours per week, Monday-Thursday with minimum shared on call and clinical duties.  Responsible for patients in PHP and IOP.

Psychiatrist Nurse Practitioner – Merriam, KS

Summary:           

Part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work with PHP patients.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Utilizes a bio-psycho-social & empowerment model.
  2. Examine and treat clients, through psychiatric assessments.
  3. Provide health teaching and counseling to clients and families.
  4. Accurately document client data, actions or interventions, responses and plans for care/follow up according to standards.
  5. Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
  6. Initiate appropriate consultations and/or actions accordingly.
  7. Evaluate health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data, within multidisciplinary team.
  8. Coordinate all laboratory and medical diagnostic testing for clients and medical team.
  9. Coordinate and attend all psychiatric medication consults.
  10. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of appropriate psychotropic medications.
  11. Provide patient education regarding side-effects and efficacy.
  12. Regularly monitor prescribed medications for assigned patients.

Due to the specialty and sensitivity of the type of services we provide, EDCare does not utilize volunteers in its clinical operations. While we often have individuals who want to volunteer their time, the confidentiality of our patients and the quality of their care is our first priority. Patient care is provided by trained staff members of EDCare. Occasionally, volunteers may assist with non-clinical operations as appropriate.
