In fact\, NEDA’s helpline chat volume increased by 85%. \nOur goal with The Warrior Experience is to raise $62\,340 – the funds needed to operate NEDA’s helpline services and other frontline resources for two months. These funds will help us provide life-saving support to individuals and families reaching out at a critical time. \nLocation: Online!\nDate: Sunday\, June 27\, 2021\nTime: 11:00 am ET\nFundraising Goal: $62\,340 \nQuestions? SUMMARY:Treatment of Binge Eating Disorder: Lessons from the Trenches
DESCRIPTION:This event includes 1 NBCC CE credit hour upon the completion of the program and evaluation.\n\nDownload Event Flyer Here \n\nWhen/Where/Cost:\nThursday\, November 19\, 2020 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm MT \nAll are welcome to join us for this free virtual event! \nAgenda:\n11:45am – 12:00pm | Check-in via Zoom Webinar \n12:00pm – 1:00pm | Presentation \n1:00pm – 1:15pm | Q & A \nWhat:\nBinge Eating Disorder (BED) has long been prevalent in our clients’ lives\, but has only been recognized by the DSM-5 since 2013. The result has been limited research on BED compared to many other eating disorders. \nThis presentation will include a general overview of BED\, specific focus on research related to treatment outcomes and an enhanced clinical understanding based on the findings of EDCare’s Binge Eating Disorder specific treatment curriculum. \nDr. Neumann will discuss effective interventions in BED treatment\, as well as identifying areas for increased focus. Join us as Dr. Neumann shares what has been learned from this under-served eating disorder subtype. See what the patients and data tell us about the long-term effect of this CBT-E based program. \nLearning Objectives:\n\nParticipants will be able to recognize the terminology\, clinical presentation\, and conceptualization of Binge Eating Disorder.\nParticipants will be able to explain the treatment nuances of a specialized binge eating disorder program.\nParticipants will be able to describe the relationship between obesity and binge eating disorder.\nParticipants will discuss the current HAES® movement\, myths addressed by the HAES® philosophy\, and ongoing advocacy work needed by all clinicians in the field.\n\nPresenter: \nCaroline Neumann\, PSYD | Regional Clinical Director at EDCare \nCaroline Neumann graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BA in Psychology. She later attended Reformed Theological Seminary and received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling. After living in Malawi\, Africa\, teaching college-level counseling courses and providing mental health services\, she returned to the states and earned her PsyD at Rosemead School of Psychology in La Mirada\, CA. She then completed her Pre-doctoral Internship at the University of Northern Colorado with a focus in eating disorders and her Post-doctoral fellowship at EDCare. \nFollowing her training\, Dr. Neumann served as a primary therapist for 5 years and is now the Regional Director of Clinical Services.  She is an advocate for the discovery of each individual patient separate from their eating disorder by the exploration of past and present experiences\, creation of new emotional experiences\, and the empowerment of the patient towards behavioral change. She also enjoys public speaking and has done numerous presentations across the country.  Dr. Neumann is a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado. \nOutside of work\, Dr. Neumann enjoys traveling\, hosting friends and family\, and various sports activities. \n\nDownload Event Flyer Here \n\nTreatment of Binge Eating Disorder: Lessons from the Trenches has been approved by NBCC for NBCC credit. EDCare is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. \nNBCC Approval No. SP-3521
