Jaime Kernaghan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her undergraduate Sociology/Psychology Degree from the University of Kansas, and her Master of Science Degree from Friends University in Lenexa, KS. Jaime completed her practicum at Solace House, a Grief Center for Children and Families, and became their Clinical and Program Manager upon graduation, a position she held for four years. Jaime also worked at a PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility) in Olathe, KS, working with Foster Children with all kinds of clinical issues, including eating disorders, attachment, trauma and grief. The past ten years Jaime focused on family systems work in Johnson County, KS as a Licensed Kansas Mediator, Custody Evaluator and Child Interviewer for the Family Court Judges.
In addition to her role as the adult and adolescent Program Coordinator at EDCare in Kansas City, Jaime also has a part-time private practice continuing her family systems work with divorcing/separating couples and their children. Jaime’s passion is group work, and enjoys introducing various topics including grief work, in the multi-family group at EDCare each week.
In her spare time Jaime enjoys spending time with her two pups, Reese and Pierce, being an aunt to her 19 nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews, as well as reading, being outdoors and baking.
