Primary Therapist

You are capable and worthy of change. I believe every person is inherently equipped with the internal resources necessary to navigate life’s toughest challenges. Through the therapeutic process, you will identify, strengthen, and apply those internal resources so that you remain effective long after therapy ends. To achieve sustainable change, I partner with clients using an integrative, person-centered approach that honors each client’s unique needs and goals throughout our work together. I start with the understanding that you are the expert on you. I create a safe, nonjudgmental environment that supports vulnerability, welcomes all your emotions, supports you through resistance, and appropriately challenges you toward sustainable recovery. I have a passion for helping clients identify their core values and build skills that empower clients to choose their values over old patterns that no longer serve. You are capable and worthy of change wherever you are in your journey through recovery.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and my Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare. I have worked primarily in the field of eating disorders since 2007. My passion for social justice, self-determination, and inclusion led me to social work and are integral to my work with all clients. I have a passion for working with others in the LGBTQ+ community and approach each client’s unique circumstances through a lens of intersectionality. I celebrate body diversity, practice Health at Every Size (HAES), and believe all bodies are good bodies. I primarily utilize acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and body-oriented somatic exposure with my clients. I look forward to supporting you in your recovery and in finding your own inherent self-worth.
