ABBY HOUSE, MPH, RD, LD
Registered Dietitian, Virtual IOP
Abby House has been working in the eating disorder treatment field in different capacities since 2018. She received her bachelor’s in nutrition science from Purdue University and her master’s in public health nutrition from The George Washington University. After previously working in nutrition policy in Washington, DC, Abby gained awareness about the significant impact that societal messages about nutrition and weight have on people’s relationships with food and body. This sparked her interest in working with eating disorder patients where she has found immense fulfillment from helping both adults and adolescents gain freedom and their sense of self back by embracing food as medicine.
She is a fierce advocate of Health At Every Size (HAES®) principles and reclaiming “health” to encompass health-promoting behaviors through the lens of health disparities rather than focusing on the number on the scale. Abby firmly believes in an all-foods-fit approach to nutrition, recognizing that food is so much more than just nutrients – it carries memories, emotions, and connection as well.
