Nicole Rains is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate who has been with EDCare since April of 2018. Nicole obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth where she majored in Sport and Exercise Science. Following graduation, Nicole spent time working as a Personal Trainer and a Gymnastics Coach where she noticed the importance of mental health within athletics and fitness settings. This prompted Nicole to seek her master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver where she found interest in the treatment of eating disorders, which is unfortunately very prominent in athletic settings.
Since then, Nicole has served EDCare as the Supervisor for the Connections House until August of 2021 and worked in the Admissions department until March of 2023. Nicole has also contributed to EDCare’s Athlete EDGE™ program by creating curriculum that helps athletes return to their sport following treatment. Now as the Regional Outreach Representative for Athlete EDGE™, Nicole loves connecting with providers, coaches, athletic trainers, etc. about the Athlete EDGE™ program and is happy to support those who are looking to send their athletes to a higher level of care.
When Nicole is not working, you can find her at a local coffee shop studying for the NCE so she can become licensed as a Professional Counselor, which she hopes to have completed by the end of the year.
