Admissions Counselor
Aelyn Thompson is passionate about creating compassionate entry points into healing. She currently serves as the Admissions Counselor at EDCare Omaha, where she supports clients through the admissions process and facilitates group therapy to promote connection and recovery.
Aelyn earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science with minors in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Her professional background spans direct care and administrative roles in child welfare, skilled nursing, and college counseling, deepening her appreciation for the systemic and biopsychosocial influences on well-being.
Aelyn brings a trauma-informed, person-centered lens to her work, based in curiosity, autonomy, and authenticity. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and has presented nationally on topics related to mental health access and integrated care.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, crafting and art, and attending live music events.
