Director of Research

Dr. Brooke Lamphere is a Licensed Counseling and Sport Psychologist with twelve years of experience working with individuals with eating disorders in various contexts. Dr. Lamphere has expertise in the assessment and treatment of eating and body-related disorders, psychological assessment, clinical sport psychology, performance optimization, sport injury recovery, chronic illness management, and behavioral and family medicine.

She completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology and Master of Arts in Sport and Performance Psychology with the University of Denver, and is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Dr. Lamphere completed an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Internship with the University of Colorado School of Medicine, with a major rotation in primary care psychology, and minor rotations in addiction medicine and transplant psychology. She completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship with Howard Head Sports Medicine and Eagle Valley Behavioral Health, where she provided clinical sport psychology, eating disorder treatment, and rural mental health services.

Dr. Lamphere is passionate about the integration of science and practice, and has diverse professional experiences in academic, scientific, and clinical domains. She has conducted research on sociocultural theories of body image, examining the efficacy of mindfulness and positive psychology interventions on well-being and performance, cancer survivorship, multicultural issues, and therapist flourishing/burnout, among other topics. She completed her dissertation research on the effects of social pressures about weight, body, and acceptance on body image in elite women athletes with disabilities, and is committed to growing understanding and centering the lived experience of individuals with eating and body related disorders who identify with marginalized or underserved social groups.

Outside of work, Dr. Lamphere enjoys playing and watching sports, hiking with her dog, and exploring local culinary scenes.
