Join us for a virtual workshop with Dr. Natasha Trujillio, head of the Athlete Programat EDCare. Dr. Trujillo will offer her insights on the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to the development of eating disorders in athletes. The combination of these elements impacts the athlete’s identity in numerous ways, including health and performance consequences.

EVENT SPEAKES:

Natasha Trujillo, PhD, LP

Dr. Trujillo has her doctorate from Purdue University in Counseling Psychology, where she specialized in grief/loss and mental health needs and access with collegiate athletes. She completed post-doc at the University of Northern Colorado, has a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her BA in Elementary Education and as well as a BA in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. During her time in collegiate athletics, Dr.Trujillo conducted therapy to address concerns both in and out of sport. Providing guidance and training to athletic trainers, coaches, and the broader athletics department related to mental health. She attended practices, games, and would occasionally travel with teams to provide ongoing support and observations to increase performance, cohesion, and support for student-athletes. Dr. Trujillo has experience in in-patient facilities, intensive outpatient substance abuse, university counseling centers, residential treatment facilities for youth, alternative high schools, home-based therapy services, general outpatient services, and collegiate athletic settings. She is passionate about normalizing mental health in athletic populations and helping athletes become their best selves. In her spare time, she enjoys being with friends and family, any type of sport/competition, and traveling.
